Andrés Mercado is an Ecuadorian multidisciplinary artist who works with photography, video and graphic design. His work is based on documenting different areas of society looking for small details that make them unique.

He started his photography career in 2011 documenting the night scene of Ambato city in Ecuador at parties, concerts and nightlife, then exploring the portrait with models, musicians and brands. At the same time he studied graphic design and he received his degree in Advertising Graphic Designer at the Technical University of Ambato in 2018. Working in different areas, from movie posters, graphic design for music records, independent brand design and editorial design such as catalogs and magazines using photography as a resource in design.

Also, he worked as a filmmaker documenting band tours, covering DJ events and making music videos for independent artists.

Andrés currently resides in New York City and his artistic work is primarily focused on utilizing cultural elements from his home country, Ecuador within New York society.

Driven by his curiosity, discovering places, talking to people, living moments, exploring different worlds is how Andres creates his projects and discovers along the way that there is always something to document. Space, being and time always have something to tell.
